The hotness level was fine but I found it all pretty vanilla and repetitive. No complex human emotions or tension whatsoever. Even the transition from 'this is just a sex thing' to 'let's be boyfriends' was pretty uneventful. The story was a succession of pretty similar encounters until the point where he two MCs conveniently fall in love at the same time no real hurdles or issues (the dad 'hurdle' felt pretty fake and artificial).

The dialogue was pretty much 'you're so bossy' and 'you're so hot' over and over (I'm exaggerating but it felt that way). Michael was way too sweet and naive for a cutthroat real estate exec Bryce had too little damage or darkness for someone who grew up without a mom (and with an absentee dad). The MCs were too perfect and cookie cutter for me. I found the story pretty boring, with no real stakes, not much world building or character development - or anything to really keep my interest. It started well but the story or characters did not grab me at all. His work is his entire life, and he’s convinced a string of unsolved cold-case suicides are linked to what could be Australia’s worst ever serial killer. But as usual, I sped up the audio to 1.25. Glen Lloyd did a clean and concise job narrating. She never skips on the details, which makes her books for me. I love the research the NR Walker does for her books, from simple things like food and drink from a specific country to all the processes of starting a new business. After that, it didn't matter if each other had money or a job, the sexual chemistry was off the roof, and that was all that mattered. I enjoyed that the identities were hidden from each main character when they first met, and that carried on for a few more meets. This is because they are both busy businessmen and do not need interruptions in their life, which means dating and relationships. Although there is a story, Mr SAF and Mr Bossy meet for sex and only sex. I enjoyed this book the first time I read it, but listening to it brought out more of the characters for me.
